Our Mission
The Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse- Coastal Bend is a private nonprofit organization that serves a multi-county region with a continuum of care in prevention, intervention, and treatment of the disease of alcoholism and other drug abuse for individuals, families, and communities.
About Us
The Council has been serving the Coastal Bend area since 1957 when we first opened our doors in Corpus Christi, Texas. With the help and inspiration from community partners, state and federal funding, and our employees, we have expanded our reach and our services to 12 counties that include Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Duval, Jim Wells, Kennedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, McMullen, Nueces, Refugio, and San Patricio.
We Offer
Outpatient Treatment for Youth and Adults - Our counselors are all licensed and credentialed to provide the most comprehensive, successful outpatient treatment available.
Recovery Support for Youth and Adults – Learning to live sober can be difficult at times but is worth it all the time. That is why we provide aftercare treatment like support groups, fun activities, recovery coaching, and other resources to assist with jobs, housing, and education.
Pregnant & Post-Partum Intervention - Our programs provide classes and case management services for women, teens, and fathers. Nothing should be more important to a parent than their child’s health and safety so we are proud to offer guidance in those areas.
Prevention and Education- The Council’s programs target at-risk youth, often working with families, schools, and other support systems to prevent the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other harmful substances.
Veteran Services- The Council's program offers case management, group for veterans, their spouses and dependents, parenting education, financial education, anger management, and economic relief.
